"Most of whom are still alive". This was the ancient way of saying "go check these things out for yourself". This phrase can be found in Paul's first letter to the Corinthians (15:6). Paul, in speaking about the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, states, "Then He appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep." This is not something you write if you're trying to perpetuate a lie, for such a claim, they will indeed investigate, especially given the hostility toward Christianity in those days. This is why Christianity exploded People saw and testified that Jesus rose from the dead; you can too!
